G`day all I would like to share some pics of a swampie I have been developing. This had been ground grown for about 5yrs and in a styrene box for about 4 yrs. When I repotted it I realised that the trunk line just didn`t look right. I worked out that the length from the base to the first bend , is the same length to the apex, the tree also looked off balance. With some cutting and wiring I think I have corrected these problems, what do you think ? I welcome some ideas and opinions

That is a pretty nice trunk Rod, a wiggle to the right, a wiggle to the left, a pleasant form and quite good taper. Much better with the corrections.
I have always wondered, how this species would perform as shohin? Does anybody know?
Cheers
Mojo

...Might as well face it, I'm addicted to Shohin...

Rod that is a mighty trunk and a great restyle! i would love to see a triangular uro carved out at the base, with a vein either side. From the photo that area in the middle of the base looks awkward. If you could hollow that area out and taper it off as it goes up, i reckon you will have a winner!

Looking good mate, much beeter front!
Just had a closer look at your last pic mate did the apex die on you, Or is it between shooting? Its hard to tell....
Thanks guys , mojo I have never seen a shoin swampie we may, have to get Jamie on to that one . Shan I cut the top off when I reshaped it , in the the middle pic it hadn`t shot yet. Ant I can see that working good idea, I had three of these swampies and that was the plan for the one that died. That was a real lesson in not moving trees when they are establishing after a repot. I will do a post of the other swampie later, I can also post a pic of the one that died. Thanks for the feed back .
