juniper raw stock

hey guys


heres another one i got at Australian bonsai grower, there is only one pic as to see the trunk for this one i need to cut into it so i want to make a plan first, it has movement in the trunk that leads away so i see the obvious look of a slanting style tree, but i am wedging it up and seeing every possible angle

i know it will be hard to see anything so when i get into it this arvo i will take another pic i plan on using some of the heavy branches for jin

the amount of choice is great, although sometimes infuriating at how much is actually there to go through, i could of spent hours going through it all.
take cash as no eftpos is available and the stock is a good range from juvenielle to quite aged and large, there are some massive JBP there.

if it wasnt so far out the way i would go there everytime i go to bris

G`day mate I`m sure you won`t but don`t forget to use the cuttings. I found those buxus strike well , ideal plant for what you do. Steve has a huge range down there dosn`t he! CHEERS ROD.....

So how were the prices ? And does he have anything else i.e. pots etc or is it just trees ?

yea mate, i havent touched this juni yet, but i worked the buxus over, i love the size of it they get sweet bark to and the buxus bits i did cut off are soaking in some superthrive now and will then get put out in diatomite

im a bit nervous about chopping into this one, i got some ideas but i want to know exactly where i am going first, the biggest prob is that the juniper has the low branching for sacrifices, then the rest of it is rather high, i was thinking a slanting style, but now things might change.

i didnt check out the pots, i went straight for the trees, this juni has a solid 35-40mm trunk and cost $90, the buxus cost me $160 and the fig was $100

Nice stock Jamie. Don't forget just because it has an obvious slanting posture, does not mean it has to be styled that way.

i just drew up a couple of sketches, it will be going a slanting style, or possibly literati. havent decided yet, what i have decided is there will be plenty of deadwood branches, this tree is gonna need it, it will work out quite well, i will scan and post my plan later on when every one is in bed so they will have to wait until tomorrow to see the plan, then the excecution

im still not sure if this is procumbens or squamata either, it wasnt tagged, and i didnt trust the signs that were up as some of them in differing areas were definately ficus when they were signed as trident

yeah its squamatta all his big ones are i looked at that very tree not long ago down on the fence line

hmmmmm, im not sure its the same one mate, this was in the middle section of the left hand isle. but squamata is all good too

the dead wood is all there at the moment but is why i am on the cautious side to chop it up as i need all the branching that is available.
