I was just playing with the dremel, I obviously did not use a valuble tree (if you thought it was, well that is your problem not mine) I only posted it, for those with a sense of humor to have a laugh at. Typical Woman, don't criticize or try to offer advice. Thank God you are who you are Paddles, wouldn't have you any other way LOL. You are having a go, but bear in mind all trees deserve some sort of respect and are not merely fodder for our experiments my dear girl. (not being patronizing). You might like to learn more from your teachers about live veins etc. Only my 5 cents worth

just on the not of respecting trees thats all good and proper but looking at this plum it was like a broom stick which may work ok for a smal shohin broom style but i think practice on it would be fine if it was a tree not going any where as padds has said.

this tree now may not be a show stopper but if it pulls through which is possible, take a look at this massacre by Alpine art (no offence but your plumb did get a good working over, i still love what ya done Alpine :D )

viewtopic.php?f=104&t=2090&hilit=plum+vs+stihl&start=15

this big plumb of alpines has pulled through so there is nothing to say paddles tree wont, and if it starts sucking up the water and nutrients to copliment the vein work it will end up twisting and gnarled that look that we strive for.

given that it is a plumb aswell it has the ability to shoot from anywhere and this will be a very good learning experience for paddles on how to control the carver, and how much a tree can handle, i say good for you paddles to be able to have the courage to go at a tree like you did. well done, and it just may pay off in a few years with a gnarled twisted tree!

ok ive said enough :D nothing was particularly pointed at any one it was just a general statement that i used ash's comment to get my point across. thanks ash :D
