Re: jbp5
looking good ant!
something like this takes a little bit of courage as originally the tree didnt look like it was worth layering, now its fattened up and you got two possibly great trees!
the parent has some nice size for a shohin or a bit bigger and the layer has some nice early movement! i think your going to get them to be corkers!
nice
im still waiting on finding the right JBP
im gonna take the plunge!!!

jamie
ps. gonna need some walkthrough guidance from you pine gurus too

Re: jbp5
thanks ken you're an inspiration here! 25mm wide / diameter. Sorry pics are the same as usual, just that it was still dark this morning and flash was used. so thats the probable cause.

That looks like good practice for putting a new set of roots on JBP stock you buy Antonio
Nice work!

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: jbp5
12 months after severance and a rechanneling of the energy.
Proof is in the pudding, you can airlayer and style a jbp section at the same time...
Q) Will it make a good tree as it is ???
A) NOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!
Come spring, in the ground !!! :hooray

Re: jbp5
Here also is the Donor. It was repotted same time as the layer was severed. Today it also got a rechanneling of energy, preliminary styling and opening up the options!

Re: jbp5
Hi Antonio,
Absolutely stunning: the air-layering! I cannot believe I actually missed it last year!
The two pines you have are certainly of great potential. Please keep us up to date with the development of this one.
Cheers.
