Hi Strawb nice progression of the reduction/layers .Ring bark or torneque method or both used on the cedars ? Alpine

hi Alpine, just went the ring bark , 2 to 1, height to width, straight spagum with some soil on top.
took a while. but was happy in the end. strawbs

Thanks for posting the progression Grant - really inspiring.
You have been lucky in getting the opportunity to rub shoulders over the years with some legends in both local and global bonsai

Alpine, Deodara, pots were on for a full year, at first they didnt take so left them on.
didnt heal over so didnt recut , then noticed roots out the bottom. chopped them early november.

Not another one .My lovely wife is not impressed .This one is on the larger landscape tray that Jamie was doing some verts on.After seeing the subjects in this topic and motivated into doing something with what i had this is the result .The trees are callitris , very young seedlings from 100mm to 350mm .Moss will be added later along with some rocks which i have yet to make.This trainer took about 1 hour to create .Cheers

I counted the number of trees this morning and there are 17 in all. It has varied over the years.Psymo wrote:Grant, I really like the black and white photo. How many trees are in the 2009 picture? Got a 2010 shot?
