bougainvillea
i got this bougainvillea recently off a mate as he didnt know what to do with it and i didnt either so i decided to chop one of the trunklines off and carve away and i think it turned out okay since the other was a bit dead and ugly[attachment=0]

Nice work but I fear that you will have issues with rot.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

i think it was you or someone who mention Earls Wood Hardener so i went bunnings and looked down every isle
WHO KNEW IT WOULD BE IN THE CRAFT SECTION hahahha

I think it looks much better with the branch removed. Love the carving work - it looks very realistic. What tool did you use and what colour are the bracts on this one ?

while we are talking about bracts hehe
is there any technique that can be applied to bougs to devlope flowering closer to the main branch and trunk structure? the on i have at home only seems to flower at the end of long branchs which i normally cut to keep shape, hence very few flowers

alot of the more experienced enthusiast have said that they water them less like once every 3 days or even a week
i also read in a book that u can use rose fertiliser on it for flowers.

UPDATE on my tree had to trim the branches i was goin to let them grow but it was very gusty the other day and it snapped one of my main branches
