cheers champ overall it is a 3-5 year plan, size wise i am pretty happy. so probably the end of the year it will get some work most likely im pretty much looking for ideas and thoughts on where to go with it for now
SHOHIN YAKUZA!!! taking the top half of trees of since 2005!
and growing trees for the future generations! 50+ year plans
I'm glad that you like it, it's looking fine after 6 days in the post! Give it a few weeks to settle in, a bit of seasol when it's growing again. I have had a bit of time to look at this tree before I sent it north, if you rotate the tree to the left about 40 degrees from where it is shown in the last pic, you will find that you can make a left primary branch from the second branch, get rid of oversize branch on the rear of the tree (currently shown on the left) and use long the leader to create upper branches and an apex, you should have a nice tree in a few seasons. If you are going to repot in spring, reduce the roots by about half of what you need to to get it in it's final pot in 3yrs time. Till then, a collander with 50% diatomite and 50% bonsai mix (sieved of course) will give you plenty of fine root growth, thus plenty of strong shoots to build your tree. Plenty of H2O and feed.
Cheers and have fun

...Might as well face it, I'm addicted to Shohin...
