English Hawthorn - NBPCA

Post by NBPCA »

English hawthorn. The tree was dug up in 1992 and its training started on the same day. It has an
elegant, slightly curved trunk and beautiful old bark. The tiered branches, suggesting age and height,
are covered in white flowers in Spring, maturing to red berries in Autumn.
The artist is entirely dedicated to bonsai at its best. He is a perfectionist, and endlessly patient.

Beautiful tree. It's nice to see a collected Hawthorn that is well branched with taper and is tastefully styled. This is one of the more pleasing examples of the species that I have seen in Australia, I would love to see the tree without it's leaves in winter. Who is the artist?

Cheers

I love the formality of this tree. A very carefully grown plant.

Artists chooses to remain anonymous but he is well known within the Canberra bonsai community. He has several well and carefully grown Hawthorn bonsai and one is to be donated to the collection.
