WHY HAS IT WILTED!!

Post by hugh grant »

I woke up this morning and looked at mytrees and noticed that one of my trees had wilted all of a sudden over night. It looked fine yesterday but today all the leaves hav drooped and all the newer shoots have drooped aswell, a few new buds have dried up aswell. It has been in full shade for a week as I repotted it 8 days ago, this could be the cause of it wilting but why is IT doing it now and all of a sudden? It's looked fine till now. The soil hasn't dried out so it's not from dry soil, I've watered it plenty.
Does anyone know wat is going on with it? I hope its going to be ok as it is one of my best trees if not the best one I have at the moment.

Hugh ;)

Maybe Jamie but I havnt watered it that much, I've just kept it most so only watered it maybe twice.
Well more info:
it's a privit and when reppotted it had about half it's roots removed which I was pretty sure wouldn't harm it being a privit and experience from other privits I've reppotted. No photo now but I'll try tomorrow.
It was potted into a shallow bonsai pot and into a free draining mix.
Tell me if u need more info.
So does anyone know wats up with it?
Thanks

Hugh

Gahh I hope it is not what Got all mine this year!!

I have lost numerous plants this year doe to what I think was fungus infections
Maples, Azaleas, Banksia, Privet, Eucalyptus, Pine,.
The first one started mid spring, and just wilted at the top and worked its way down the trunk over a period of a week.
the floliage sagged and then the branches turned black

I sprayed everything with a fungicide but every few weeks I lost another the same way. It affected different trees, and did not matter whether in My diatomite, Akadama, or Rays own mix. Watering was consistent across all trees and none of the deceased were over wet or potbound, or dried out.. :-(

Hope you have not got it too

I hope that's not what it is Ken :? But I'm pretty sure it wouldn't bethat because it wilted over night over the whle tree and looked perfectly fine the day before.
Yeah it might be alright Jamie but when I tree does something wrong it gets me worried, I've lost a heap of trees that iv liked alot, but it's good in the end in a way, you learn from those mistakes and those mistakes I've made and lost trees, I havnt done again. Lime you said it's a Privit.
But I'd still like to know what's going on with it if anyone knows.
