[SOLVED] Unknown Fig

Post by AndrewM »

I have the opportunity to either dig it up or take layers from this fig tree and can't put my finger on the species.

Hi Guys.

Please dont use common names. Or at least look up the scientific names too so that you get an understanding of what we are discussing here. The problem is we are all talking about the same species, but slightly different variations. All F. microcarpa have lenticels on the bark that make horizontal lines like those pictured. Either way it is F. microcarpa of some description, and they can be treated the same as eachother.

Hey Joel

I get what you are saying about the scientific names but I am trying to narrow it down to specific variation. This is way I am asking for help.

Thanks for the info about the lenticals on the bark :D
