Move to Canberra !! I have a tree on loan - yet I can go and see it anytime I like ! What's more - It is being cared for by an awesome group of people - my tree is looking awesome at the moment !

Its not that far to drive from Sydney to visit on weekends

Bloody site closer than Perth.
After about six weeks you stop crying, then whenever you see it posted, or any one asks you question about it, you start to blub again.
But hey it is a good cause for Australian Bonsai. Believe me the feeling you get from seeing it there is worth it.

Geezzzz Leigh, i used to date a girl in Canberra and would drive down for lunch, that was the best part of Canberra LOL....appart from the roundabouts.

If you have one tree of this calibre Im guessing you have two.
Just as with children in the end you need to part to build a true relationship (or so my Dad tells me)
I think you can let this tree go for some time and be very proud that you have one of the rare trees that are accepted into this group.
I understand you not wanting to let go, it is this very reason this tree is so strong, its a catch 22 heck its a catch 44,
if you dont let go you may never be as proud of your achievement
if you do you will have to accept that your art is for more than you.

Make no mistake this tree is art.

Pup has refered to this in another thread and I agree, you have bent the rules in a way which adds to this tree. that lower branch has me looking, the back branch has me searching.

Either way, you dont live too far from me, I reckon Id like to come visit this tree for myself.

Wow, i just found this satsuki while trolling through the forum and i had to post a reply, mostly so it would go to the top of the cue and i could find it again to have another look and another look and ...

Firstly, congratulations on a truly stunning tree.
and secondly, how did the story end? did it go off to canberra or can you still see it every day. If it were mine i probably would keep it at home. Also i would love to know more, its history, the variety etc.
Ok i'm going back to search for that flowering pic from back in august

I may be out of place here, but thought I would post any way. I am not sure if it is an edited effect, but what is with the green colour cast through the shot?

IMHO the green cast ruins the impression of this tree.

It is hiding the different hues of the foliage and trunk.
Please excuse me if I am out of place, I will remove it if asked, but the tree looks more like this, does it not?

Did a slight sharpen and removed the oddities in the black background, while i was at it.

i love this tree! i dont know how i missed it, im not big on azalea as bonsai but this one has definately caught my eye!!!

as dayne said could we get some history? did you grow this yourself from a small plant? how long has it been in training for?
