European Olive - NBPCA

European Olive - 26 April 2010.jpg
European olive. This venerable tree, approx. 50 years old, was dug up near Adelaide, cut back to a
short stump and trained from 2003 onwards. This involved extensive use of various techniques,
including carving, wiring and selective pruning of roots and branches. Note the deadwood and the
imposing trunk base, indicative of great age in nature.
The artist has a wide knowledge of all the intricacies of advanced bonsai styling.
