hi steve
as for your tree it looks rather healthy so thats a good thing! presuming you know ho to keep the tree alive, all that needs to be done at the moment is watering as needed and plenty of sunshine, we are in autumn so best to wait till spring before doing any work, when that comes around and the tree is activly growing again you can defoliate and wire out the branches and place them!
feel free to ask anything and good luck with the tree!

Heya and welcome! That's a nice, healthy fig.
Don't send it to Woody, send it to me instead

Re: adive on pj fig
We don't work our figs now in Sydney because of the cooling weather. How cold does it get in Brisbane? If you still have plenty of warmth in your days I can see reducing the height, choosing a header from the lower branches, starting to wire it and repotting it.
I gather it is sitting in proximity to a rock. It well could be the photograph but the rock doesn't appear to be complimenting the tree even tho you have lots of aerial roots. I would be getting it into a pot with good soil, lots of nutrient, remove the rock, arrange the aerial roots to compliment the trunk and give it a start on its bonsai career. All that cancelled, of course, if your neck of the woods also suspends work on figs until November or thereabouts.

Re: adive on pj fig
header= leader, it is a branch or new shoot that is chosen to cut back to and grow on to induce taper.
