New Japanese Pots

I received in the mail today a very nice present. 2 pots made by my friend Tadashi. Tadashi is an extremely talented local Japanese potter from Maebashi City, Japan who happens to be a friend of mine. I asked Tadashi if he would make me a Bonsai pot or two and I told him I'd leave the design completely up to him. This is what he came up with. I'd like to know what you guys think.

There is a tree that will go very well in one of these pots sitting out there waiting to drop its leaves. I'm going on a dig tomorrow....I might just find something for the other one.

These pots are so nice they could even be used for other things. I could see the second sitting on the dining room table with fruit.............. Just joking! They are lovely pots, Webos. You are blessed to have such a talented friend. Where can I get a friend like that?

is your friend located in japan or here in australia?? i ask because i am wonder in that makes them australian pots or japanese?? maybe i am being pedantic about it, obviously they have been made with skill and talent by your friend, would love to hear some history of your mate, whether he has a workshop here or if he just does it for fun?

Tadashi Aoyama lives and works in Japan and his works are made in his workshop which is right behind his house in Maebashi city, Gunma Prefecture. Originally a racing boat driver, Tadashi started potting after a major boat accident which left him hospitalized for months. After the accident, he decided to pick up pottery as a hobby but he displayed such talent that he was able to turn his hobby to a profession.
