Hello John. I'm sorry, that really bites
I hope the culprits responsible for the theft of your pines are brought to justice.

Hi John real bummer about your stolen trees. I can't stand people who want to profit from others effort and not have to work for it themselves. Do you have photos to post so we can keep an eye out for them ?
Regards Tony

Sorry to hear about your trees, John. If only I lived in Victoria. I love the liquid amber, and it would survive here, but......... too far away.

Re: [SELL] Quality trees For Sale
Hi John, I can't stand it when people do this do other bonsai artists. The risk is aways there ofcourse when we show or trees on forums or exhibitions. But it not right. We can hide our trees but half the pleasure of growing them is showing the to others.john m wrote:Hi All, Last month i had four of my biggest, best and most expensive pines stolan, as my main passion is Pines iam selling off some of my other trees in order to replace with pines. Maybe we can start a new topic for stolen bonsai that include photo's. That way we can keep our eyes open and contact the owner.
John you can contact me if you like and we might be able to buy some of your trees.
Regards,
Chris

Re: Quality trees For Sale
I think everytime someone has a tree stolen, they should start a thread with pics and details of when it was taken.Bougy Fan wrote:Hi John real bummer about your stolen trees. I would of thought said characters would try and get rid of them cheap through ebay and/or private sales.
If we posted a concise thread with details, I am sure after a while we may have some luck, maybe no at all.
Separate threads could work for each person, but one where we dump all details / pics into would achieve a single thread with all our stolen plants, much easier to scan through.
Either way I feel this is becoming such a problem, that it deserves to be acted on.
Perhaps a thread "Stolen trees to look out for" . Just my thoughts.

Re: [SELL] Quality trees For Sale
As much as I would love the first one, I couldn't afford whatever it is you'd be asking. But I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear your pines got stolen. That's an absolute dog act for someone to do that. It's bad enough when a material possession is taken. But for someone to steal something that takes so much love and care and time is just unfathomable.john m wrote:Hi All, Last month i had four of my biggest, best and most expensive pines stolan, as my main passion is Pines iam selling off some of my other trees in order to replace with pines. G, day John as I am in WA I cannot help with buying. What I can suggest is that you POST pictures of the stolen trees so if any body see's them they can contact the Local police, and you.
After talking with Lindsay Farr this week, he told me that the Police are very aware of this, and recommend that you micro dot your trees and pots as they can identify them . Then when it is recovered even when a few branches and the pot has been changed, it can still be Identified then they can prosecute, or whatever.
This by the way is very disappointing and a despicable act, and when caught should have the family jewels rendered useless
Cheers,
Pup
