Future ideas for a half dead juniper

Post by blkrota »

Found this juniper in the yard starved of light , I have cut it back and left all the green stuff (its not much i know).
It will survive and is comming back to life very well.
If anyone is bored could you please help me out with a vert for some extream idea's. :)

I dont know if i should use the large left branch for gin(when the time comes to cut) or grow it back and use the top for gin.
This Juni will make a nice shohin in a few years.
Cheers.

Look at cutting back to the first branch, feed and water, plenty of sunshine and be patient. When there is significant signs of regrowth, pot on into a good quality mix and keep feeding. Not a lot else to do at the moment. Good luck

Your Idea to just grow it is the best one. I wouldn't spend too much thought energy on its future just yet get it moving and spend a good few years pumping some growth into it.
