Is it going in right direction...frnds...??????.
i have a Tamarind (Tamarindus indica), also called Indian Date, shown in pics......which i collected as a good potensai..i had repotted it in feb...now in mid summer here...it is in good health.....now i m thinking abt its trunks thickness and length.....i had pruned it after repoting but new shoots at lower side didn't grow..may be due to old bark present on it....dear frnds pls suggest wt should be right shape and size for it that you recommends.....

should i have to go for air layering for reducing its height,,,,,to get a good trunk and height ratio...frnds????

hi mate,
the lower section has some nice movement but with it coming out of the pot at a near vertical line it can be distracting, i would tilt the trunk some, and there is definately a chop needed to probably bring the tree down to one third of its height now, that is where you will find your tree, im not sure how these back bud so maybe someone with some experience with the species might be able to help. i also think that this one could do with some ground growing for a year or three, it will help thicken the trunk and you could make some chops to give it some taper if you wish. otherwise with the straight section in the higher two thirds of the trunk it will make for a very hard tree to work with and pull of convincingly. this is just my opinion though.
