Found it out. he said it is an emery dwaft. so it is a thunbergii

I agree with Grant, probably Mikawa.
By the way, "Yatsabusa" means "eight buds" and that name can be added to other cultivar names, just to describe their growth habit.

How about trying to find an Australian source, which may give a better idea as to what is available here?? For example, see Conifer Gardens in Victoria, at http://www.conifer.com.au/conifer_list Just scroll down to "Pinus thunbergii". The names of the plants are clickable and will provide you with image and description.....to name a few, any sound familiar? some varieties might not be available here in australia, not sure, info sourced from evergreengardenworks.com

hi lisa, was in a bit of a hurry today, went to the site i knew of that had a list of differing varieties. havent had much time with moving house and such. have more time at night at the moment but i didnt post that at night!
