Post by yadibrar »

hello frnds,
i collected this ficus panda in jan. this year ...at that time it was a nursery plant in a big bag...i removed some parts and planted in a pot..
i march when it started growing .i roughly wired some its old branches.....
now it is in good health....and today i have defoilated it first time..... now i m thinking of its final shape....it has some dead wood on top which i don't removed today...
so u all r invited to participate in shaping (styling )it...

hi mate :D

nice little tree you have there, i would remove that deadwood from the top, i cant see it working to well in the final design to be honest. i think your on the right track with styling, it probably needs a little bit more depth from front to back, it looks flat in the side pics. that will come in time as you develop the branching and get new shoots you can use for back branching. when it fills out in the apex as well you will have a sweet tree.

do you know the botanical name for ficus panda?? i have heard it before but cant put my finger on what the botanical is.

good work mate.

agree with jamie

did a virt. but i think my virt is looking a bit too flat. no depth. you can make it look like this. but just keep some branches at the back so it doesnt look to flat.

that would definately help with making the tree more convincing and would take the attention away from the straight trunk. then you could ramify it nicely and it will come out nice.

few options for you to decide champ!
