Re: Map Pins
BUMP...
Come on guys and girls, after all the effort Jow has put into describing and documenting his pin requirements, someone has to know where to get them!
S.
P.S. That's a nice draft mate and one beautifully sharpened pencil too!

Re: Map Pins
Thanks for the compliments Steven, but it was work time procrastination rather than work
.
Hopefully people keep these size pins in the back of their minds (figuratively speaking) and remember to let us know if they see some around on their travels.......
thanks for all the help so far everybody.

Re: Map Pins
I found the 5mm head ones easy. The 10mm heads are harder to find but here is one from the UK.

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: Map Pins
Bretts, you've just given me an idea (after following that link). How about Australian Geographic?
Those pins from the UK are a bit expensive I reckon - that's about $7.00 for 20 pins, then there's the postage on top of that. Surely we can find them somewhere here in Oz.

Re: Map Pins
Jow, this might be stating the obvious, but have you tried your work stationary supplier/s who supplied them in the first case?

Do i have a plethora of pinatas?

Thanks for that Brett, I had tried searching the net but must have been using bad keywords.... Hopefully i can find some locally but failing that its good to know i can get them via the UK. What search terms did you use?
Josh: The office orders their stationary via office works and they do not stock them so the pins at work were either ordered long ago or bought on a whim from elsewhere...
Thanks again for all the help everyone.
Joe.

Re: Map Pins
Jow, several years ago when I was into building model boats the Modellers Shipyard supplied headed pins to hold planking in place. Some of them were threaded and had a small extended knurled head to grip them. Give them a ring. They used to be at Nowra but are now at Blaxland in the lower Blue Mountains. I think they may have web site, but definitely worth a try. Ask about planking pins,

Hey Jow are these what you are after
I just found them on an office supply website. Not sure if they are exactly what you need.
