surprise..the cutting worked!

Hi all,

I purchased two prunus perisca versicolor a few months back, just as autumn was kicking in. it is grafted so i applied three airlayers (which are already growing roots that can be seen through the plastic film. I also accidentally broke the last inch off one of the tips when applying the layers. Even though it was probably the worse time of year to do so, i dipped the tip in root hormone and stuck in in the soil of the same pot.

I had forgotten about this little "cutting" until weeding the pot yesterday and i accicentally pulled it out. it has a small mass of fine white roots growing out of it!! i repalnted it right awya nd watered with seasol so hopefully this little brach tip will continue to grow! who woudl have thought that it woudl have taken root in the first place. it seems all the clippings i try to grow never work and this one has just taken off. woot!
