more to come

John nice to here from you, yes he still has those hybreds and im planning to travel soon that way. He is hopeless with computers etc and i cant get pics off him. Ill take some myself when im there. Thanks for the positive feedback too ant its a hoot when you style something and it turns out actually what you had in your mind. Another 2-3 seasons , a change of pot and well see where its atjohn m wrote:Hi noah, your trees look great, are you concerned repotting pines at this time i do most of my pines in mid August(what potting mix do you use)
Thanks John m (any word from your mate as yet)
Very nice trees Noah, they will be very special soon and designed by an Australian artist.nealweb wrote:Congratulations mate, absolutely beautiful collection of trees and magnificently housed. Just one question though, i never understood this tilting of pots in winter. When the pot is level the drainage holes are at the lowest point, tilting the pot lifts the holes up and surely just makes a pool of water in the bottom corner!? Am I wrong? Do they actually drain better this way? Do others do this in the wet?
Thanks
neal.
Yes Pup you are right, what i need to do is go out and grab some pots and experiment with it. Its more water sitting in a puddle i was thinking about than how much water the pot is holding ( just thinking back to that very confusing post about water tables and deeper pots actually holding less water than shallow ones, flat sponge vs sponge on end etc). Anyhow as you say Noah's trees sure look good for it and they do it in Japan soPup wrote:Very nice trees Noah, they will be very special soon and designed by an Australian artist.nealweb wrote:Congratulations mate, absolutely beautiful collection of trees and magnificently housed. Neal to answer your question. After you have watered a pot and let it drain, so no water is dripping from it, then pick it up and tilt it.
You will get more water draining. This practice has been proven in high rainfall. Like the wet season in japan.
