[quote="noah78"]Ok From my 3 years of growing bonsai in rockhampton. From best performing to least

Noah, this is the most perfect list I could wish for. My state of confusion has disappeared since getting these last few replies tonight from you and others and I feel as though I have some direction at last.
Thanks so much folks

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this "cry for help" of mine. I didn't personally address everyone but that was not intended. I guess I'm treating this forum as though it was my club and I'm needing answers to all of the thoughts that go through my head and it's like sitting at a table and talking to you all. I really do appreciate the time and thought you have all put in to give me the direction I need. Wouldn't it be good if we could all get together for a big meet
cheers Loretta

Funnily enough, Loretta, I got most of mine from Bunnings! The Daintree pine is lovely - but I got it from a local nursery, with a trunk about 3cm and standing about 1 metre. If you would like to take a trip to Mackay we could go on a nursery crawl together! I could also give you some cuttings.......

Be careful with those calliandras, Loretta. They look suspiciously like sensitive weed's big brother - except the leaves don't fold when touched and the flowers are red. My husband kept threatening to rip mine out of its pot, so I gave back to my mother who had bought it in the first place, and she has it planted in her yard :D :D
