Urgent Daisy Advice

For 10 years I've been eyeing off a daisy in a local garden, too shy to ask the home owner about it though Feeling courageous today and quite happy I waited so long I asked and was welcomed with the idea, so long as I replace it with something hardy which flowers in blue - haven't thought of what yet? trip to the local nursery will be helpful

Tomorrow afternoon I'm digging this daisy from the yard. The soil is rock hard clay which has resulted in the naturally stunted tree, as have a few passing cars taking the gutter and giving it a clip here and there.

What's the roots like on a daisy usually?

I have no idea how they go at being transplanted either? I'll be taking a good chunk of intact root ball with me but are they prone to sulking after being transplanted? Any and all advice welcomed!

Should bounce back pretty well, I've moved a few without problems. Cut it back a fair bit, the new growth might sulk a bit, but should be growing again before long.

Thanks Greth, I managed to do a bit of digging around last night on my phone and am surprised by how easy they transplant.

It's getting quite dark now to do any cutting back so that'll happen tomorrow morning.

I managed to dig up the root ball easily, ants and all - boy were they angry! I was covered in their biting fury

Hi Anja , looks good , mighty big base you have there .When i collected mine "pre dug"actually ripped out , i cut them back to bare trunks and they have shot well .No special mix ,holesome garden mix free draining and placed in the shade .Good luck . Alpine

I have a small daisy plant, I had moved it from the garden and in to a pot,
I don't think It even knows yet.
