Mugo with a twist

This is progressing well after removing it from the Alpine-truss i attached shade cloth slings and wire to complete the compression of the bean pole to were it is now

Great work! This shall surely lead to a great bonsai in the future!

As you stated that straight section at graft needs a lil' work, not sure if continuing the loop de' loop is the way to go, bit of a constant spiral going on there. Maybe apply the bender in the opposite direction and deflect that top portion downwards at graft point, instead of continuing the spiral.
I know how hard it is, I've done this several times with slings and guides, there's only so much movement you can apply whilst compressing down, they usually want to spiral on themselves.

Hi alpine, i quite liked the tree standing upright, and then you go and half the height. I like it but maybe like you said try and get a bit more movement in the straight/loop section Very interesting approach, i'm sure you have a fair idea what you want to achieve so keep us posted, good work mate Cheers Craig

Hi Fella's , i liked it too ,but got sick and tired of standing it back up .The wind was a curse on this particular tree either blowing it out or over .Another 360 degree's should do the job , it will tighten the spiral to multi spirals .Then it will be ready for a nice spiral shari carved into the bark thats if i don't kill it first .It will take time ,something i've got plenty of unless the "man upstairs" has other ideas .Cheers Alpine
