Pot Suggestions for my juni

Post by archie1979 »

Hey everyone on a happier note, I am looking at possible pots for one of my large junipers. I was thinking of perhaps getting Penny to make me something special.

I was thinking something unglazed, possibly rectangular with feet. Maybe some crackling.

Thoughts suggestions. I wont be repotting this until next year so I have plenty of time to think about this one.

Thanks everyone

Cracked unglazed sounds good but maybe round rather than rectangular, I know the tree is not a bunjin but it has that sort of sparse feel about it which would suit a round shallow dish.

hi mate :D

If this was mine i would lose all branches below the first large branch on the left(retain stubs for jin). then i would clear out the foliage and fine wire the tree all the way to the tips (very important to go to the tips). then when you thin out the top and have some foliage placed roughly where you want it, you will have a sweet literati ;) once things settle you can then start some shari work and you will have a corker tree.

will save the pic and see what i can do for you :D

SHOHIN YAKUZA!!!
 taking the top half of trees of since 2005!
and growing trees for the future generations! 50+ year plans :D
