Hi All, This is a cherry that i got off jow ,this has been the best year for growth and flower

Looking good John,

I pruned mine too late and only got a couple of flowers this year..... I hope i get blooms as good as yours next season!

hey how, so the best way to ensure flowering is to prune after flower and then aain mid summer yeh? how do u do it?

I don't know much about cherries but I do know that the flowers appear on the last seasons wood. So if you prune back after flowering and lightly trim in early summer, you will leave most of this seasons growth and plenty of wood for next spring's flowers.

Nice job John, I love your pines but this is the second time you have surprised me with a nice "non pine" I expect this one will continue to improve when it fills out over the next couple of years.
I will have to pay attention to Jow when he talks about a particular species he has or wants, with his experience in Japan he is able to pick some really good ones.
