Hi all,
I am selling a Port Jackson fig (Ficus rubiginosa), it started out as three advanced starters strapped together and planted out in the garden about 4 yrs ago. The top and the fatter roots were chopped several times and it is now completely fused and going strong. Last autumn it was dug and put into a strong foam box. I live in Perth so it would be much simpler to sell to another Perthy.
The tree stands 40cm tall at present, 41cm wide and the trunk is 70mm at the top of the nebari.
I'm asking for $60. Anyone interested please PM me.
Here are pics of all the four sides, trunk and top.
Cheers,
neal.

Re: [SELL] Fused Port Jackson Fig (Perth only)
No one interested at all? Its an easy, fast and forgiving species, great to work with. The horizontal marks on the trunk are from cable ties but they are very superficial, 1/2mm deep at most, they should be gone soon I expect. With some work to select branches, ramify and then reduce the leaves it could be a nice tree
or else plonk it in the ground and grow it even fatter

Yeah true mate but this thing is pretty heavy in a grow box full of wet mix. I've not posted anything before but I think it would be quite a cost for the postage. I'll try and suss it out a bit but pick up or drop off somewhere in or near Perth would be easier.Dumper wrote:maybe u put perth om;y. the market decrease by 90%

I watered him this morning and he now weighs 12.5kg. According to australia posts website a box up to 18kg to Sydney is $44.80 but the max. size box is 30cm x 40cm x whatever heigh and the foam box he's in is a little bigger than that. I'm sure there are other ways but i'll just wait a bit and see if there is any interest from the west first

Re: [SELL] Fused Port Jackson Fig (Perth only)
hi mate
If you are wanting to post outside of WA you will have to bare root the tree (I think, pup knows more about sending out of state, he sent a Mel to steven not that long ago, i think it was in the pot still to so i dont know
)
when you go to send it you can get the weight down by giving it a root prune aswell and if you put the root ball into a couple of plastic bags then taped tight on the trunk it decreases weight big time, not to mention the parcel size will be much smaller. you will also be surprised but what i had found a box of that size you stated with something that weighs under 8-10 kilo will go by cubic weight and it was actually cheaper then when it went by actual weight, go figure huh.
hope that helps some mate
