[GROUP BUY] Carbide carving bits

Post by Jamie »

hi guys,

After posting a pic of the set of carving bits I got for my rotary tool and asking if people were interested in a bulk purchase. I am happy to organise this through my supplier but a couple rules- 1. I cant afford to cover costs, if i did I would be happy to get them and sell as is but cant, so upfront payment is required. 2. because it is an overseas supplier it will take upto around a month. 3. If i think of anything else I will let you all know.

OK with that out of the way, I will need to have a number of orders before i contact my supplier, this way I can sort it out and get them as cheap as possible plus postage, which wont be a great deal.

These bits fit a standard collet size for the dremel type tools, i have a 3mm collet in mine and it is a tight fit, i presume they are an imperial size which works to 3.2 mm or 1/8 of an inch.

these are the bits, I have tested them out and they are great little bits, they dont grab much, but will take excess wood out where needed with out any hassle, I did have one problem with one bit and that was the pointed pyramid bit that had a slight bend in the shaft, but for the cost i wasnt to phased. these are a similar design to the termite bits that are sold at Kaizenbonsai.com but are way cheaper.

reply to this thread if you want to order, I will need orders in as soon as possible to get the price sorted as I said previously. So if we can set a time limit of say 2 weeks? to get the ordrs in, if you guys want to have more time just let me know and we can adjust as need be.

As an approximate price dependent on order numbers It should be around $15 plus postage.

thanks guys :D

hi mate,

sorry i just checked that  then edited my first post, the shank fits a standard collet, I have a 3mm in mine and it is rather tight, so i would say it would fit the 1/8 of an inch collet aswell.

cheers :D

hi mate, if I can get enough people who want them, I am hoping to get them for around $15 ( plus/minus ballpark) for the set of 10, plus postage.

postage will be a minimal thing, a small padded envelope will cover it.

cheers guys :D sorry i forgot to put the approx. price in the first post.

I'm in if it is around the $15 mark.

I have a dremel so hopefully they will fit the 1/8 shank.

hi mate, I cant see it going over that with a bulk purchase thats for sure! and as I said before, I have the 3mm collet which they fit in fairly tight, so the 1/8 collet should be fine (i didnt get my verniers from dad  ) I will get you guys an exact measurement asap :D

Hi Jamie

I'm definately interested. The guy at Bunnings told me when I bought my Ozito that all dremel fittings would fit it. Going on that advise I'm definately in. Does anyone else use an Ozito and if so, was this advise correct.
Thanks Loretta
