Melaleuca Decussatta - Cross Leaf Honey Myrtle

Post by kcpoole »

Hi all
A few years ago, a challlenge was put out by ( i think Asus), for everyone to go out and find a Notive that had not been bonsai'd.
I picked up 2 of these and had them in the ground at my old house.

One I replanted when we moved and the other is in a Pot and I repotted it today.

here it is when purchased in a 6 inch pot in April 2008.

Today i repotted and trimmed the one in the pot
It is 275 mm tall, and about 40 mm across the trunk base

Nice one, I have also found out the hard way that some native tree branches don't like to be bent :(

Checked the other day but the first shot was only up. Looks great mate, I purposely snapped the top off one of my Mels, as Pup suggested and it is sprouting profusely from the point. :)
This looks like it shall be turned into a nice little tree in the near future, it's well on its way. :)
Regards, Mitchell.

I like how this one is going. It has a real 'australian tree' feel to it which is great. Be good to see how it will go over the next few years.

Thanks all for the Comments :-)

Re the styling, I like the shape of Pups Mels, and the way the trees look in nature, so are trying to emulate that Aussie Style with this one
