Wollemi polar caps
Just a few shots of the 'polar caps' - 'melting' - on the Wollemi.. i love this tree!!

Wow, very cool!! Thanks for sharing I REALLY want to get several wollemi pines ASAp to start playing with. Have wanted some for ages, but not much luck finding them

Makes me sad that I lost mine due to Fungus last year

Thanks for sharing the photos. I have a small one planted in the garden but the 'polar caps' havent started to melt yet, its nice to see whats to come. These are a truly noble tree in there natural environment and its great that so many have gotten on the 'bandwagon' so to speak.
This is my first year with the tree, I am planning on letting it grow to a reasonable sized garden tree, trying my hand with cuttings & layers over time.

I can say that they do layer, as I have a littly that I took off (layer) what is now a 5 ft (ish) tree.
I will get some photos up of both, just waiting for a nice day ...
Have had mine in partial sun - not too dry, not too wet, nice and acidic (4.5 ish).
Seems to do well, have had 3ft of growth in as many years, and that is in a 10-12L pot..

I have taken a few cuttings in the hopes of propagating them as either bonsai or more pot specimens.
I have a lot of growth coming through on the lower half of the tree, so I'm tossing up as to whether I should take more cutting or let it grow out and air layer it.
