PJ Fig

Hi

Thought I'd post some photos of a PJ Fig i potted into a styro box this week.
Ive had for a while, photos are over about 15 months i think.
It has had some serious wiring/shaping, which has been taken off to give it a rest.
It has a long way to go and many faults ... but I LOVE it, there is just something about it that always draws me in for another look.

Any ideas, feedback will be welcome

this has the startings to a nice tree, I like the trunk and it has some very good potential, I am interested in the grafting are you doing that for airial roots or are you doing that for new branching? either way good idea as there are some blank spots that need branching, I think you need to remove one of the main trunks, I would remove the left personally. when the airials thicken and fill in it will have some good taper. some branches in between the first branch and apex will help too.

If you don't remove some of the trunks coming from the same spot you are going to have massive reverse taper shortly.

This is one of my figs that has a wonderful 'waist' due to the massive top branches. I am growing the aerial roots on the left side to help thicken the visual image and change the reverse taper to a merely stubby trunk.
Had I known how the fig would turn out when I started working with it in 2003 I would have changed my tactics but I still feel it will develop into a nice 20 cm high bonsai once the roots have thickened and melded into the trunk.
