Stunning. Looking forward to seeing it in a bonsai pot. The tree has a lovely shape and that magnificent colour. Hope some day my azaleas start to fill out like your Hino.

When the blooms die off a little I will be heading in there for some serious trimming. Then it is into a grow box for a few years. At present I have a picture in mind of how I want it to turn out. Something like a fat trunked trident, semi formal upright. I will post something after clean up

In Azalea Bonsai in Japan they are designing a lot of Natural style trees as it suites the material so well. I think we are now well past the Moyogi etc. styles as "the only way to go". Satsuki growers do go their own way and have had very little to do with the main Japanese Bonsai tradition - you only have to look at Meika style to see that and it was the early way of growing Satsuki bonsai.
