This is a Radiata pine that i styled with Hiro in July this year, i did not think it would live but is going great.

Radiatas are very strong. Why did you think it was going to die?

I love the trunk line you found in there, and it took me a few seconds to find it on the before photo. Love to see this in a few years.

You have some amazing pine stock! Where do you find it all? And the time to work it all!

Wow John,
Great work. I have often looked at P radiata as we have lots of them around here locally, both proper trees and wildlings (ex seed). Very vigorous though
I have always shyed away from them but your work has inspired me and makes me think to maybe have a crack at it and collect some trees from the wild next winter. There are plenty of trees (4-5 years old) I could work on already in the wild and collect later?
Any collection tips?

Make sure the soil is wet before digging, and collect as much of the root-ball as you can.Spray with seasol and pot up in 100% diatomite around the whole root-ball. keep in shade for at least 3 months, and don't water, but spray foliage twice a day. good luck! :)
