Melaleuca Revolution Gold - Ugly Duckling to...
I have no time to play games with seedlings - there's not the years left in me. So I try to buy more developed stock and cut down. A native I love to do this to is the Melaleuca Revolution Gold. I HAD to have one because of the foliage colour and found my first at Riverview Nursery, very hardly done by and in bad condition. In 18 months I had it on the show bench at the Royal. I sold this and bought two more, every one started out as ugly and unprepossessing and lacking potential as you could ever hope to see. While there is much work to be done on the two new ones, this tree shoots back well on old wood and is a rapid developer... great for new as well as more advanced enthusaists. The hard thing, naturally, is to find older stock but look what you can do....
Sold that... let's try again
Nursery is closing.... one last for good measure
So you can do good things with the tree. The roots still need another major work over but you can only do so much and get survival on the first go and the roots were HORRENDOUS, most about as thick as the trunk. But it's coming along and I can't ask for more. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi, just wanted to say great progressions, nice trunk movement on the first tree and great potential on the others. I will definitely keep an eye out for this variety of Melaleuca at the nurseries.
Thanks,
Elias

Love your work, shows what a little imagination and a sharp pair of secateurs can do. I am looking forward to see the results next year
