Two recent acquisitions. Any idea of the ID?
Obviously you may need more pics. I'll get to that now.
I've labeled them mel and cal. but just guesses.

"It is one thing to shape a tree into form, but when you are able to convincingly deceive ones perception of reality, something much more is accomplished than just a simple bonsai."
"In a perfect world, we would all be giants and all plants Bonsai."
Yep confirming you have a Melaleuca (paperbark) at top and a Callistemon (bottlebrush) at bottom. As to the species take some close ups of the leaves.
Have fun!

The first one looks like mel. linarifolia to me, the second is as stated a callistemon but there are so many of them I wouldn't guess which one
Both are very nice finds, did they have any nice casuarina ?
Craigw
They were the biggest specimens, with a low branch and some movement. The mel is sitting straight side on, the other has slight movement.
Craigw- Yes a few , generally dead straight. There is a grove of 30m high ones, down the back if your keen, plus several 3-10m.
Just finished re potting the Callistimon, gees Louise! Thread to follow soon..

Any more ideas on the Callistemon, or are we happy with Viminalis, after the closeup shots.
Sorry for the bump, just am interested to know.
