I have to disagree some what Mojo,
I had considered the tree coming from a very sheltered area but figure asking a beginner to gauge the time and placement to combat this a little advanced. It is hard enough finding one right spot to start with. I think best to find a nice part shade area and be done with it. KISS, If it suffers a little leaf burn this will be less detrimental than continually moving the tree around while learning watering and such.
Also as to adding osmocote we have no idea what is in this trees mix. Maybe it is already overloaded with cheap slow release fert and nutrient rich organic soil. Adding more will be of little benefit to the tree if any but may very well be detrimental. Also it might discourage Anubis to water correctly as they will always get washed off.

Just a quick question, we get possums out one whole side of our house that live in the trees in our neighbours yard.
Will they want to nibble on his leaves?
Will putting the tree out that side cause any issues there? i.e. being completely eaten? haha

I am also having a few issues finding somewhere that would suit your parameters for a good position bretts.
I haven't yet had a chance to take photos as my house/backyard is very large, but i'm beggining to think a shade cloth out on the deck near where it was before but in full sun could be an option. This area gets full sun pretty much all day long.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
I quickly grabbed some photos of where im talking about.





It is also very easy to move him from sun to shade, so could this also be an option? i.e. leave in sun till 10am-ish then bring under shade?
this wont work with school but it could be a temporary thing till i find somewhere else?

And i know its probably better just to give it a shot and try and experiment, but i'd still just like your advice before i get mum/dad to set any kind of shade cloth up out there

The deck looks Verry Nice

It should be fine there on Most days of the year with no worries at all.
The only issues will be wind burn on those hot days we have in OZ ( low 30's or more), but you will get that with most trees in OZ unless specific measures taken to avoid it.

Yeah i have a trident who is undergoing C.P.R

Keys, DO NOT over water. I was obsessed with it and nearly killed the thing
Keep it in one spot then repot etc, i got mine, moved it from outdoor to indoor, chopped its roots and the branches, the thing had a heart attack.
