[SOLVED] Which ficus is this?

I bought this yesterday tagged as a 'coin fig'. A google search only revealed the 'golden coin fig' which is the Ficus microcarpa 'Green Island' which this is not. The leaves are tear-drop shaped (obviate?) with the petiole on the pointy end. There is no central vein to the leaf.

Glenda, the only one I can find with a leaf shape the same as that top leaf in your first photo is Ficus Craterostoma. If you type ficus craterostoma into google then go to images, there are some photos there that look like the one you have.

Could possibly be deltoidea. Look at the underside of the leaf for a darker spot near the main veins.

Top one is Ficus deltoidea, it has foveoles in the axils of the main leaf veins under the leaves. These are little hoods in which pprotective mites can live. It comes from south east Asia where it occurs on mountain ranges in forest with Pitcher Plants and the like. Its mum probably originally came from me!

Thanks Tman and Jerry. It is indeed the ficus deltoidea, complete with green fruit.

Jerry, with you being the ficus enthusiast you are, perhaps you could tell me something. Using that name I found another website http://www.picable.com/Nature/Flowers/F ... ves.678123 that states the ones with three spots are female plants, while http://www.asianplant.net/Moraceae/Ficus_deltoidea.htm shows only one spot on the back, which mine has. If this information is correct, that would make mine male?

I am sorry to state that I have no knowledge of male or female in this plant species. It should not make much difference in growth, shape or culture. This species is one of the few Ficus that seem to have fruit almost continually.
