Hi All, recently i had to source natural rock slabs for a japanese garden i was landscaping ,my local garden supplyer had a contact that could get rocks sliced up like a loaf of bread ranging in size 30cm up to 2mts great for displaying bonsai.

Your garden and bonsai looks great John! Do you have any problem with the stone slabs heating up and overheating the pots? I used concrete pillars for years and thought they were too hot. Then I shifted to (ugly) welded mesh benches which are unsightly but good for cultivation. They are built into my ugly little bonsai house. I would love to do this and have acquired some sandstone paving slabs but I am concerned about their high thermal mass.

great bonsai there and an absolutly great garden. the sliced rocks give the garden a look that most average," do it your self" home gardens dont have.
