Howdy Aussie 4bonsai,
The Gumpo azalea is a Satsuki azalea, however, I think you have a different variety of Satsuki. I have grown pink gumpos and mine have never shown two diff colors or shades of pink, as yours does. One nice thing about Gumpos here in Houston, Texas, where our temps get above 95 C in the summer for several months, is that they will tolerate sun better than most azaleas. However, I would limit the sun to just morning sun and shade the rest of the day. Also, check the ph. Azaleas in general need the ph to be no higher than low 6s in order to be able to absorb nutrients efficiently. I would aim for a ph in the mid 5s to be safe.

Re: Gumpo or Satuki without a name
Hi Ron
Thanks for the input, this plant is dwarf in growth the only difference in growing this to the other one that I put up (Gumpo Azalea in flower) is it was kept in a smaller pot and because the growth was slow it hasn’t been repotted as often, my other thread on Gumpo Azalea in flower is pink and white.
Merry Christmas
Barry
