How about a Mallsai competition. Buy a Bunnings bonsai and then see who can improve it the most in a predefined period of time.

Sounds interesting AndrewAndrew Legg wrote:OK - how about a Dog's Breakfast Competition. You post a photo of your most ugly or difficult tree, a tree you have that you just can't figure out what to do with, or a tree with a major fault that you can't get your head around. Judgement is passed on the tree with the most intersting/worst problem, and the person who comes up with the most interesting or creative solution.

I think you should run a competition based on the inspiration idea, as what inspired you to take up bonsai, or inspired in you a love of trees in general, could lead to some great stories and photos.

Re: Harry Harrington's Bonsai Inspirations
We should have a competition where everybody tries to come up with the best competition ideas. Oh wait...

This is a really good idea but.... I have no hope

I was reading http://bonsainurseryman.typepad.com/ , Brent Walston's blog; he has [back in June] a piece on"Rules You Won't Find In Books" - could be good place to start, for another thread??Petra wrote:How about a new bonsai technique that hasnt been said or displayed before.
