It all depends on whether you have bought the thing but............
You would have to grow it as a large flowering Bonsai, I saw the tag as Red Wing in the top photo, it will have large flowers.
Mick is kind of right but there is always something but it will take some time and patience but that is part of Bonsai...............
Never say die
I thought I would have a crack at drawing confusing lines all over your nice photo
It might be a little late to cut all the lines back now but I am in not so sunny these days Melbourne.
While you are planning cutting back, it is a good idea to get into the roots, in this case I would take off about 40% from the bottom and tease out the sides by about 20% with a hose but it is a little late for roots now.
The
red lines would be the first year and the
blue lines the second with the
green being a possible trunk line.
You shouldn't cut right back in the first year as this can cause severe dieback and loss of roots. Cut back to reduce the vigor and let the plant re-direct the sap flow into the ones you want to keep, in this case the green one.
Cut back flush to the blue lines the following year and seal them up,hopefully this would minimise any dieback.
When you have the main trunk you can work on bending it a little and fattening it up by letting it back bud, you will have to control this a little otherwise you get reverse taper or thickening of the trunk in the wrong place, like the areas indicated with the
yellow arrows. When I say control it a little, use the shoots as a tool to thicken the trunk where you want to.
Thats enough for now, you don't want to be worrying about branches too much at this stage.
