Juniper cascade stagnation pictures.....Help please!

I got this tree in 2009:

The regression of the wires and wrapping is canceled by the progression in growth - that's why this is ....stagnation?

Can this be styled as a cascade, semi-cascade, semi-formal, tanuki or literati?

Any thoughts on this will really be appreciated by the tree.

Morning Lennard, you can definately style it but I think you have to lose some length to gain some taper if you know what I mean.
The main trunk is too straight and has no real taper past the rim of the pot. I am in a hurry so i cant say much more just yet but it is early.
Have a look at one of those branches as a possible new leader for the trunk like the first one that sweeps to the left and chop the rest below that point off and reduce the top to balance out the growth.

Looking for examples on the net of nice Juniper p. "Nana" cascades I could not find much -maybe I was looking in the wrong places

I already have two "normal shape" juniper cascades and I really need to do something special with this - even if I have to re-pot it in a bigger container for a few years to get the trunk to thicken up.

One example I do like is from Will(Grouper52) as posted on Bonsaisite:

Maybe with some thickening of the trunk this could work?

G'day Lennard, I think your tree had potential but there are a couple of tips to develop these. First, i know they are hardy but they love food and water. I have one that i keep fertiliser baskets on permanently. I also cut off the underside growth. To refine this species you have to finger prune the new growth regularly. This creates new and denser growth which gives you the cloud foliage look. I have one i am developing and have done a progression on here called matching pot and tree. The tree is not all that old and i am happy with the top of the tree and i am now working on its tip to balance it out. I hope the tree gives you an idea on what to do with your tree. Do not be afraid to prune it hard to promote secondary and tertiary branching.

Hi Lennard,

Putting it into a larger pot or bed to fatten for a few years is probably a good idea, I have some which are in that situation at the moment and I am glad that I potted them on as they are powering and I know that I will see better potential with them in time to come.
