A New Fig

Post by Dave54 »

Hi Everyone,
Thought I'd share a photo of a little Port Jackson Fig that had its first shape and style this week.
The trunk line has been created by the cut and grow method and whilst I mentioned that it had its first style this week, I do throw a bit of wire on designated branches through the growing process.
Anyway here it is straight from nursery stock to you.
Note the top rear branch is a bit fine to wire just yet and even though it does not show in the photo, I have cut the apex just above a new bud.
cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm impressed by this fig and your other too. Does this one have a back branch?

Hi,
No unfortunately no low rear branch yet, but confident one will shoot there now that I've cut it back hard.

Thats awesome Dave you have inspired me to do that to my pj figs and to have a go with the rest of them.

If you have anymore of figs that are styled like that would you be able to post them.

Thanks

Beaumatsu
