Ok to pot a Hinoki Cypress?

Post by aikijooji »

Hi all,

I'm quite a newbie to bonsai and just wanted to know if now is an acceptable time to re pot my Hinoki Cypress.

At the moment it is still in its plastic nursery pot and was styled about 2 weeks ago.

Also I'm based in Melbourne, if the weather would have any effect on when or when not to re pot?

Thanks

George

The only thing that should be repotted in Melbourne at this time of year is Figs and then that should be done carefully with the strange weather we are having. If you are moving it to a larger pot without any root disturbance that would be fine. Optimum time for this tree would be early to mid September.
