I have plenty of time. Would be great to meet a fellow bonsai enthusiast in any caseshibui wrote:Its a bit of a drive from Yackandandah to Canberra but we can no doubt find a way if and when the cuttings are struck and growing. Note that would not be until next summer at the earliest. Maybe next year's native show??

More female gigkos.
We were in Ballarat last weekend and spent some time in the botanic gardens there. Lots of lovely mature trees and some nice new gardens. Amongst lots of other varieties they've got 3 medium sized gingkos between the fish pond and fernery - 2 of them are loaded with fruit
More female trees turning up each month so definitely not as rare as I was led to believe. I did manage to relieve one tree a handful of the fruit. Now to germinate some then just wait for ?? years to see if they're males or females.....
There's also a newer planting at the gardens with several different named gingko varieties along the western fence. I couldn't see any visible difference between them though.
