the saved fig

Post by dragon »

hi guy's
i thought i would put this fig on as it has got a story to it i dont own this tree
but one day a old lady came to me where the wife works and said she has a tree in a pot :palm:
and i asked her what type and she staight out said how the hell do i know it just sits there
and i dont even water it her daughter gave it to her for her birthday 12 years ago and when i saw it i nearly cryed
but i said to her i will try and do something with it
it was in a little black plastic pot with at the most 1 inch soil in the bottom of it :palm: so i thought to myself
it shouldnt be alive it had 1 leaf on it and even that was looking very bad so i took it home and played
with the roots to find out a good way to put it so i layed it at a angle i didnt get a before picture :palm:
but i got a updated picture of the tree yesterday it is looking much better than before by 100% :tu2:
cheers dean the terror

G'day Dean, it is nice to have trees in a nice Bonsai pot but i am sorry, you are a little premature with this one. For a tree that is in the condition this one is in it needs to grow for a while. I would suggest that you put it in a large grow pot for a year or two. It needs to develop its root system and get healthy. In a year or two your skills would also have grown and you will access the situation from a different point of view.
