cascade buxus

[bonsai of tree]

A buxus in cascade style. Anyone here done it because if you have i would appreciate photos and tips.


here's a picture i found of a cascade buxus but the thing is it just doesn't look real, i mean the whole point of bonsai is it to look real.

im not sure what you mean by real . Im terms of bonsai , i think this tree is VERY special and the artist should be applauded for such work Do some of the japanese black pine trees in japan with there perfect structure look real? i mean pines dont normally grow like that but yet they are masterpieces . I would give my left testicle for that buxus and could only dream of styling a tree to that degree one day

Nice tree, but also would like to see more of the pot.
I would also like to see some of the foliage mass broken up into smaller sections with a little negative space between them. This woud give more "depth" to the tree and show some more of the pot off

I know how slow Buxus grows and to develop something like this has taken a great deal of patience and foresight to develop. I would have it in a heartbeat.

This tree still does it for me, like one of the members said that maybe exposing some more of the pot but the time and skill required to achieve this tree is Alot to say the least. That flow of the trunk is SOOOOO captivating as you follow it all the way to the foliage pads.

I agree excellent tree and very real looking. The trunk line is supperb and the foliage mass well constructed. A true masterpeice.
