Melaleuca claret tops

Post by Handy Mick »

Hi all, :gday: I bought a Melaleuca claret tops a few weeks ago, it has been reacting strange and has been a balancing act to keep alive due to drying out very quickly :? . I had a look inside the pot yesterday and is badly potbound, what i'm asking is, is it ok to repot now? ultimately i would like to give a good root prune aswell and sort out those roots. or is it just a slip pot?
I live in the highlands between Canberra and Sydney, warm days and now cool nights ATM, will get quite cool from now on though.

For your consideration

Hey Mate,

Mel's can survive being very root bound. Maybe a tray with water underneath? My biggest Mel lives in a bucket of water 24/7.
