Fallen Gum raft style ?

Post by PaulC »

Hi everyone,

this tree has caught me eyes over the years, and finaly had the opportunity to get a pic or two of it.

A large gum which has fallen in the paddock.

Not quite a raft yet, but has a nice new apex.

( I think that apex has been starting to form for about 25 years, I have been watching this tree for a very, very long time !! )

Any thoughts ?

Hi,
I see old gums like this all the time and I reckon it would make a great new style. Not really a traditional type of raft as there is usually quite a bridge or arch in the middle with a new trunk or two standing up from the middle.

Those who are not in redgum country may not understand if they haven't seen them but they are interesting.
All difficult things have their origin in that which is easy, and great things in that which is small.

That's a beauty Paul! Thanks for sharing.

I like the little Aussie Raven accent sitting on the raft in the first pic.
